Virtual Earth 3D v1.1 Beta (4/4/2007更新)

Virtual Earth 3D是微软公司Live服务中的一个地图服务，可以用3D的方式浏览地球上的任何一个地方，就如同Google Earth一样。只要进入Windows Live Maps之后，切换到3D检视就能够使用。不过Virtual Earth 3D最特别的地方是它可以在浏览器里面直接执行。在Virtual Earth 3D里面已经有十多个城市能够看到3D的建筑物，而且还包含贴图。

目前如下城市包含3D地图展示:
San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Baltimore, Dallas, Fort Worth, Atlanta, Denver, Detroit, San Jose, Phoenix, Houston.

除了一些常用的地图服务功能外，微软还在这些城市3D建筑物上设置了虚拟广告牌，这是一个特色服务，微软可借此在虚拟世界中卖广告。对于3D城市，我们并不陌生，Google Earth中的3D城市也在不断增加，目前德国和日本的3D城市较多。与微软不同的是，Google Earth的3D城市和3D建筑物大都由网民借助SketchUp制作上传。
